Group Heralds, if you have allowed your membership to lapse during the shutdown, please get it renewed ASAP. As a reminder, you must be a member in good standing of the SCA in order to hold an office, and I don’t want to have to start pulling warrants due to expired memberships.
THL Christofle Etienne de Lorraine dit le jeune has decided to step down as Lincoln Herald. I would like to thank him for his excellent service to the Midlands.
To that end, anyone interested in taking on the position of Lincoln Herald should send their application to herald(at)midrealm.org before June 27th. I would like to have the decision made and announced by the first week of July. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
Lincoln Herald – Midlands Regional
The Lincoln Herald supports the group heralds of Illinois’s seventeen baronies, shires, and cantons, as well as the Dragon Herald. The Lincoln Herald has one deputy (Prairie Pursuivant) who reports directly to them.
Job tasks include:
- Ensure quarterly reports are submitted by the baronies and shires.
- Ensure timely dissemination of information from the Dragon Herald to local groups.
- Maintain communication with local groups to provide answers and assistance, escalating to Dragon Herald or other resources as needed.
In other news, Boiarynia Katalena Ivaniaia zhena Shishova has announced that she would like to step down as Thuban Herald (Herald for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing). I would like to thank Her Excellency for her dedication to Silent Heraldry. As the Thuban Herald is a fairly specialized office, I will be taking some extra time in finding a replacement. If you are interested and think you may have the skills needed, please feel free to reach out to me.
