Letter in August Pale – Kingdom Chronicler

Goodday, Midrealm!

Events are picking up and more and more have been added to the Kingdom Calendar. Please be sure to pay attention to the Event Ad deadlines for each month. They are HARD deadlines and Ads submitted after the deadline for each issue may not be able to be published. Please understand that there is a limited space available in the publication, so while the Editor of The Pale and team does what they can, once the publication deadline (the 10 of each month) gets close, their options are quite limited.

Speaking of the Editor of The Pale. We are looking for someone to train for this position and to add a couple of people to The Pale team. We currently have a Copy Editor, Emergency Publication Deputy and the EIC.

We are looking to train someone for the position of Editor of The Pale by January 2022. This person would get several months of actual training before taking over the publication and will have both myself as Kingdom Chronicler and the rest of the team to assist them. Please contact me via [email protected] if you are interested in learning more about being the Editor of The Pale.

We are also looking for an Ads Deputy for The Pale. This person would be in charge of working with Event Stewards to make sure that their Ads fit the requirements and reaching out to groups who need assistance. This would take a huge load off of The Editor of The Pale and would make the entire system work more smoothly.

The Chronicler’s office is still looking to fill several positions in the Kingdom. We are in need of regional officers for Midlands, North Oaken, and Pentamere. These are not publication positions, but act as my deputies in the Kingdom helping me with the day-to-day work and assisting local officers. Please contact me by September 1 2021 if you are interested or have questions about these offices.

If you are a Chronicler for your local group and have not gone through your training or need your warrant renewed, please contact your regional to get this set up. All Chroniclers are required to be trained and warranted each year per Society.

And, finally, I would like to take a moment and thanks Countess Alys Katharine for her many years of work as our Copy Editor and Valka Ormsdottir (formerly Ksenia) who is our Emergency Publication Deputy. These wonderful ladies have kept things going for years and especially during the chaos of 2020-2021.

I hope that you are all well, and I truly look forward to seeing you all in person as soon as I am able.

Take care of each other and enjoy the summer!
