Wow! What a reign! I could fill the next few lines with adjectives that cover a WIDE variety of topics, situations, events, people, displays of A&S, fighting or shooting on different lists, along with all the challenges, problems, solutions, camaraderie and shenanigans that often goes along with all that is involved… and it STILL will not be enough to convey to our populace the immense joy and honor it was for Us to have served as your Sovereigns over the last many months. It was an absolute pleasure to serve and as We move through these last few weeks We want to take the time to recognize many of Our staff and others that have helped to make this time so smooth, even when the road wasn’t.
First and foremost, we want to thank ALL members of Curia for an insightful, progressive, fun and informative year. As the kingdom moves forward into the coming years, I am glad to see that the leaders continue to find the right people to trust for these volunteer positions that mean so much. Though We have thanked many of our staff personally, We want to again say Thank You to several
individuals, while We have the chance.
- Angelique and Vincenzo – As Our Chamberlains you served Us without error and were always dependable. You were Our team captains, Our guiding forces that kept the ship afloat and moving forward. Thank you for everything in numerous ways, you always were and will always be Our dear friends.
- Astridr – As the reign continued you really developed into a organizational saint that kept Us on track and on task, especially during Gulf Wars which We tasked you specifically with. Thank you for being there for Us.
- Meadhbh – Often seen at the end of Her Majesty’s right arm instead of Her hand, as you often replaced it. You were there for Us both. You are a capable, dependable and trusted friend. Thank you.
- Emmiken – For as busy as you were, you never let Us down. Always able to step up, lead a project, take up the slack and push forward, You were an immensely positive force. Thank you.
- Kineburga – From start to finish, We got to know you, love you and come to see your abilities shine. We cannot wait to do it again! Thank you.
- Mihri – Sage of the Sewing, Professor of the Pin, Scholar of the Stitch and Keeper of the Closet. Your skills, friendship and endless hours MADE this reign look as good as We felt. YOU are a huge reason that this reign got compliments on numerous outfits.
Further, there were multiple others that also made individual outfits or items that also got numerous compliments and We would see they are added here so all can read and bear witness:
Her Grace Mistress Rebecca (Her Majesty’s dragon dress), Her Grace Mistress Cassandra (West) (His Majesty’s Tudor), Quenild (His Majesty’s leather landsknecht), His Grace Finn (His Majesty’s green cup!), Corasandre (multiple undergarments for both of Us), Cheese Cheese (multiple side projects, fittings and fixes).
Nezkha, Heather Gray and Mistress Gianna you know what you did and We know and acknowledge your contributions. They were numerous and invaluable. THANK YOU ONE AND ALL!
A special note to all our Champions – You served with pride, grace and honor. We will be saddened when We release you, but know that the pride We have in you will live on in Our hearts forever. As a side note, We do believe we had the most female Royal Champions ever for any reign in the Middle Kingdom, possibly in the SCA. We pride Ourselves in choosing talent, determination, honor, strength, grace, nobility, chivalry, and courtesy, to name only a few of the wonderful qualities of Our Champions.
There are many others who We will thank in time and personally. It has been an incredible journey and We can’t wait, should We be blessed to do it again! We have the greatest kingdom in the Known World in people, talent and friendship.
