Snowshoe Hare Culture Faire (North Oaken)
The veil of winter creeps toward the Middle Kingdom…. Grey days and even darker nights touch the heart with threats of loneliness and longing for fairer times.
A time of fellowship is planned in the heart of this twilight season, a fellowship at Woods End. A gathering that brightens the spirit of those that rejoice at the sound of the needle and thread swishing forward on its journey. A gathering that hears the scratching of the quill on parchment and the crisp cleaving of a keen blade on wood. A content time where the whirring of the spinner’s wheel is as comforting as the bright sound of the assembled bards and their inspired voices.
A gathering that beckons with the aromas of a legendary feast where the Jackal’s House teaches their secret lore to those that wish to nourish the Children of the Dragon. A gathering that ends with bread broken among friends by the light of flickering candles….

Come join the Canton of Woods End on February the 17th for the Snowshoe Hare Culture Fair. Space is available for salons of your artistic discipline with the intent of demonstrating and cultivating interest in the Arts & Sciences of the Society. Classes with your salon are highly encouraged so others can catch the inspiration and learn how to get started.
Interested in sharing your persona’s nationality and time period? What did they wear, eat, fight with? What were their customs or superstitions? What was everyday life like? Share a display that enlightens and educates!
Calling all Bards!!! We are looking for traveling minstrels and song birds to perform. The top of the hour throughout the day will shine with a poetic performance!
We will be holding two A&S competitions. Laurels are encouraged to submit an entry and a separate Apprentice/ ‘Unbelted’ competition will also be held. Populace vote decides the winner of both.
Lastly, the magic of Team Anubis will entice us all day with smells from their kitchen. Not only will they be preparing the feast, but they will be teaching a feast steward training track that results in that evening’s feast.
If you would like to host a salon or a cultural display please contact the event steward, ahead of time. Space may be limited! Salon’s will be grouped together by craft.
Let us know if you would like to teach a class! Make & Takes are wildly encouraged!
Bards, if you are interested in performing please contact the Bardic Steward.
